My family and I are goning to move on Wednesday next week. That means no internet access for me for the next four to six weeks. *Pause for some ungainly wailing*

I probably chose the wrong time to become active on the internet. Quite a pity that, since I had the really brilliant and very much original plan to organise all the recs over at TorchwoodHouse on delicious. I'm way too lazy to go through their recs without being able to combine tags. Now this'll have to wait.
My mother is convinced that this is a perfect opportunity for me to focus on school right now, yay.

The comments on that entry make me want to throttle some fanbrats.

My comment:
I must say that I find the overall consensus that it can't happen because it is a 'family show' repulsive.
There still seems to be this idea that a romance between two men can only be expressed through sex or sexualised acts.
Well, here's some shocking news. Gay men do other things together, besides fucking, even when they are attracted to each other. And children don't naturally differentiate between the love between men and men or men and women, they are taught to.
I realise that this general misconception of relationships between gay men is likely a result of networks like HBO portraying them as masturbatory fantasies for frustrated singles. But it annoys me to see how quickly slashers, who imo would identify as homophile, fall back into line with traditionalistic ideas of family friendly values and limits.

The overall opinion on homosexual relationships in a family orientated show seems to be 'this can never happen, even if I want to see them making out'.
I'm always glad to discover that an evidently not so small proportion of slashers view gay men as one-dimensional sex fantasies for their own viewing pleasure, and obviously something children must be protected from.

Hi there!
